The program & discounts
What is the Victorian Energy Upgrades program?
Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) is a Victorian Government program that helps households and businesses cut energy use and bills by offering discounts on eligible energy-efficient products and services.
Is Sahajanand Eco a VEU accredited provider?
No. We are an installation business. Where a VEU discount applies, it's offered through a VEU accredited provider we work with. The accredited provider creates the energy efficiency certificates for your upgrade and is named on your quote and paperwork. They may also contact you to confirm the installation.
How is the discount applied?
The discount is taken off your price upfront and shown clearly on your quote and invoice. You don't need to fill in claim forms or wait for a refund.
How much is the discount?
Discounts vary depending on the upgrade, the product installed, what's being replaced, your location and the current value of energy efficiency certificates. We'll tell you the exact figure in your written quote.
Is the upgrade free?
Most upgrades involve a cost to you after the discount. Be wary of anyone promising a "free" upgrade — we'll always show you the full price and the discount so you can see exactly what you're paying.
Can I combine VEU with other rebates?
In some cases, yes — for example, some hot water upgrades may also be eligible for other government rebates. Rules change from time to time, so we'll check what applies to you when we quote.
Eligibility
Who is eligible?
Victorian households and businesses can access discounts on eligible upgrades. Specific requirements depend on the upgrade — for example, many require an existing system to be replaced and decommissioned. Try our eligibility checker or contact us.
I rent my home. Can I still upgrade?
Yes, with your landlord's written permission. Many landlords are happy to approve upgrades that add value to their property and reduce running costs for tenants.
I've had an upgrade before. Can I get another?
Usually yes, for a different type of upgrade. Some activities can only be claimed once per property — we'll check this as part of your assessment.
Installation
How long does installation take?
Most hot water, split system and cooktop installations are completed in a single day. Ducted systems and business projects may take longer — we'll give you a timeframe in your quote.
What happens to my old appliance?
We disconnect, decommission and remove it for responsible disposal or recycling, as the program requires.
Who does the installation?
Licensed and insured plumbers, gasfitters and electricians. You'll receive the relevant compliance certificates once the work is complete.
What warranties do I get?
You'll receive the manufacturer's product warranty plus our workmanship warranty. Warranty details are included in your quote and handover pack.
Working with us
Do you door-knock or cold-call?
Never. We only contact people who have asked us to. If someone claiming to be from Sahajanand Eco contacts you uninvited, please let us know.
What areas do you service?
Metropolitan Melbourne and many regional Victorian areas. Contact us with your suburb and we'll confirm.
How do I make a complaint?
Please contact us first so we can make it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the accredited provider named on your paperwork, and you may also raise the matter through the Victorian Energy Upgrades program's complaint channels or Consumer Affairs Victoria.
