Heat pump hot water

Hot water that costs less to run

Hot water is often the second-biggest energy user in a Victorian home. A heat pump draws warmth from the surrounding air to heat your water — using a fraction of the energy of an old gas or electric system.

At a glance

  • Up to 3× more efficient than conventional systems
  • Works day and night, in all Victorian weather
  • Can be timed to run on cheaper off-peak power or solar
  • Removes a gas appliance from your home
  • VEU discount may apply, taken off your price
How it works

Like a fridge, in reverse

A heat pump uses a small compressor and refrigerant to move heat from the outside air into your water tank. Because it moves heat rather than creating it, it uses far less electricity than a traditional element.

Modern units are quiet, work in cold Victorian winters and can be scheduled to run when your power is cheapest — including during the day if you have rooftop solar.

  • All-in-one and split units available
  • Tank sizes to suit 1–6+ person households
  • Manufacturer warranties on tank and compressor
